The composition reflects late 19th-century European decorative traditions, with graceful proportions, expressive drapery, and a calm, contemplative pose.
The figure is seated on a stylized bench. One front leg of the bench is missing, which does not affect the sculpture’s stability when displayed on a flat surface, but is noted for accuracy and transparency. Additionally, on the back of the figure there is a small hanging decorative element that has lost its tip; the original form of this element cannot be determined.
Surface wear, oxidation, and patina variation are consistent with age and material, enhancing the sculpture’s authentic antique character. Despite the noted losses, the piece remains visually strong and displays beautifully from all primary viewing angles.
