This elegant fruitwood desk was created in France, circa 1920. Made of blond walnut timber, the large writing table sits on four carved legs with two iron stretchers. The front has a wide opening with plenty of knee space and the back is embellished with three decorative drawers. The traditional, Louis XV style desk has a ornate bronze hardware. The writing table is in excellent condition and has a rich, light walnut patina. This Classic, Baroque desk is not only useful, but would make a beautiful statement placed in the middle of a study or library because has the carved in front and back ( picture 1 and 2 ).
