Striking matched pair of antique Chinese export lacquer panels, originally inset into a 19th-century European chinoiserie wardrobe or armoire. Black lacquer ground with hand-decorated gilt birds, flowering branches, and foliage in a traditional bird-and-flower motif.
These are substantial, architectural panels with beautiful age patina and visible handwork. Ideal for use as wall art, headboard panels, custom cabinetry, or decorative architectural elements.
