This is a Heintz Art Metal Shop sterling silver on bronze vase.
The item is from the American Arts & Crafts movement, produced in the early 20th century.
The shop was known for a patented, secret method of applying sterling silver overlay onto a bronze base without the use of solder.
The chemical formulas for the patented bronze patinas were lost after founder Otto Heintz's death in 1918, and the company closed in 1930.
The marks on the bottom include the number 3681, the company's diamond-shaped logo with "HAMS" (Heintz Art Metal Shop) inside, and the retailer "R.H. Macy & Co".
