Traditionally used … Read more This antique copper and brass bed warmer dates to the late 19th to early 20th century, approximately 1880–1920. Traditionally used to warm linens before sleep, bed warmers like this were filled with hot coals or embers and passed between the sheets on cold evenings. Today they make wonderful decorative objects, bringing warmth and authenticity to farmhouse, colonial, or traditional interiors. The warmer features a beautifully aged copper warming pan with a hinged lid and a long turned hardwood handle joined by a solid brass collar. The copper has developed a rich patina over time, while the handle shows the mellow wear expected from decades of use. A small hanging ring on the lid allowed the warmer to be stored on a wall near the hearth.

Substantial and well-made, this piece displays beautifully on a wall, beside a fireplace, or as part of a traditional kitchen or hearth collection. See less
