A magnificent large cylindrical majolica ceramic vase, entirely hand-modeled on a lathe, glazed, and decorated by hand with an airbrush. … Read more A magnificent large cylindrical majolica ceramic vase, entirely hand-modeled on a lathe, glazed, and decorated by hand with an airbrush. It is made with feldspar-rich glazes that allowed for a rich vitrification during the second firing. Signed under the base with the incised signature "Baldelli," a renowned Italian ceramist, and with the place of production "Italy," this vase is from his early production, before "Italy" began to be used to indicate the place of production. It dates back to between 1920 and 1930. Note the beauty of the decoration, a still life created with simple, stylized lines and bold, contrasting colors, in a distinctly Futurist style.
