Magnificent artistic ceramic vase, signed by the historic "Robbia" (La Robbia) factory in Gualdo Tadino. This piece stands out for its bold design, departing from the historicist tradition to fully embrace the Art Deco or Futurist style typical of the first half of the twentieth century (1930s/1940s) or the 1950s revival.
Subject and Style: The vase has a globular ("ball") shape with a low neck finished in silver. The decoration is strongly geometric: zigzag lines and stylized wave motifs in silver (platinum luster) stand out against a vibrant coral orange background. The chromatic contrast between the warm orange and the cold metal creates a dynamic and modern visual effect, typical of the ceramic experiments of the time, which sought to unite applied art with the new aesthetics of speed and geometry.
Manufacture and Signature: Made of third-fire glazed ceramic for the application of precious metal. The base bears the "Robbia" signature, traceable to the famous Gualdo Tadino kiln, known for its excellence in lustres and metallic decorations.
