Subject and Symbolism: The body of the vase, with a milky white base, is surrounded by a rich, continuous floral decoration. The main features are large, stylized flowers, likely peonies (a symbol of nobility, honor, and wealth in Chinese culture) or lotuses, painted in delicate shades of pastel pink and indigo blue. The flowers are connected by elegant leafy scrolls, symbolizing continuity and longevity. The upper rim is particularly exquisite, decorated with a band of heart-shaped or stylized cloud motifs, known as Ruyi Heads (or Ruyi Scepter), an ancient Buddhist symbol of good luck and blessing ("all as you wish"). The base is finished with a geometric Greek key with stylized "petals."
