The … Read more Striking vintage Icelandic lava glass vase produced by GLIT, showcasing a dramatic volcanic aesthetic emblematic of late-20th-century Nordic design. The tall cylindrical form is heavily encrusted with lava texture, contrasted by a smooth, subtly flared neck and polished rim.

The surface displays rich, layered tones of smoky brown, mauve, plum, and ash gray, evoking Iceland’s volcanic landscape. Sculptural and architectural in presence, this piece works beautifully as a standalone object or as part of a Brutalist or Scandinavian modern interior.

Icelandic Ceramics pottery Glit Reykjavik Pottery is the only ceramic factory in Iceland and was founded by Ragnar Kjartansson, sculptor and ceramic artist (1923 - 1989) on June 10, 1958 together with Einar Eliasson, Pétur Saemundsen. Ragnar was a member of the Icelandic Sculptors Society which he established in the Icelandic capital in 1972 along with others. See less
