Vintage Anatolian Cicim Kilim with Diamond Motifs – Handwoven Tribal Flatweave
This exceptional vintage Cicim kilim is a rare example of Anatolian tribal artistry, distinguished by its intricate embroidery-like technique and bold geometric composition. Handwoven in the mid-20th century, it features a mesmerizing grid of diamond-shaped medallions, each filled with smaller motifs in vivid hues crimson, emerald, indigo, saffron, and ivory set against a rich, textural backdrop.
The Cicim technique involves supplementary weft wrapping, adding dimension and texture to the flatweave base. Zigzag borders and triangular accents frame the central field, echoing protective and fertility symbols passed down through generations. This kilim is not only a textile but a tapestry of cultural memory and nomadic expression.
Ideal as a wall hanging, floor piece, or gallery textile, it has been professionally cleaned and remains in excellent vintage condition.
