Offered is a stunning pair of authentic Guy Chaddock & Co. bedside cabinets from the celebrated Melrose Collection. Handcrafted in Los Angeles, California, these pieces exemplify the high-end French Country (Provincial) aesthetic for which Chaddock is famous.
Design: These "commode-style" nightstands feature a classic planked top, raised panel doors with shield-motif carvings, and elegant bracket feet.
Finish & Wood: Crafted from high-quality hardwoods (Oak/Maple) with a multi-step, hand-rubbed finish. The finish name is likely Chestnut or Tobacco, featuring signature "heavy distressing" including scoring and faux wormholes to provide an authentic antique patina.
Storage: Deep interior cabinets include adjustable shelving supported by L-shaped brass pins.
Hardware: Original heavy-cast pendant drop-pulls with an aged bronze patina.
Dimensions: 21.5" X 18" X 24"
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The intentional distressing masks minor age-appropriate wear beautifully.

It is important for buyers to note that the following features are intentional and part of the "French Country" aged aesthetic: Wormholing: Small, dark circular pits across the surfaces (primarily the top) designed to mimic the look of centuries-old European antiques. Scoring & Rasping: Delicate, hand-carved indentations and edge-wear that give the wood a "lived-in" history. Cow-Tailing: Faint, wispy dark streaks in the finish applied during the glazing process to add depth and "age". Finish Variation: As is common with Guy Chaddock’s hand-rubbed, multi-step finishing process, there is a natural variation in tone between the two pieces, with one showing a slightly deeper patina than the other. This is a result of the hand-applied, custom nature of Chaddock’s finishing process, Overall Status: Aside from the intentional factory distressing, the cabinets are structurally sound, the doors hinge smoothly, and the interiors are clean with original shelving included. less
