This six-tube candle mold represents American domestic metal ware used for the hand production of narrow tapers in the late-19th to early-20th century.
The construction employs folded tin sheet secured into vertical tapered cylinders fixed to a flat lower plate and perforated upper plate to support wicking while wax is poured. A wire side handle provides transport and pouring stability.
Six-tube molds increased throughput for household illumination prior to widespread commercial candle supply and remained in circulation in rural settings into the early factory era. The 11-inch height corresponds to standardized taper proportions for domestic lighting.
Provenance details unknown; acquired directly from a Northern California collection.
