This antique chest from England has been designed in the clean lines and look of the Swedish Gustavian era. It has three drawers, which are minimally adorned with a painted outline about their perimeter, and each fitted with a pair of simple ring pulls. The skirting is linear all around, with a detailed trim carved between the lowest drawer and skirt along the front side. This chest is presented upon four flute-carved, square tapered feet (which are likely a later addition). The custom painted finish is warm and earthy; primarily made up of wheat, taupe, and browns. This 18th century Swedish-influenced chest is the perfect piece where a smaller sized case-piece is needed; perhaps as a single nightstand or storage and display within a powder room. See less
