These contemporary prints … Read more A beautifully matched pair of large botanical prints, presented in marbled French-line matted mounts and gilt frames. These contemporary prints are taken after the 1806 English originals, which were first issued as individual botanical plates and later included in the 1807 publication A Complete Dictionary of Practical Gardening.

The original works were painted by Sydenham Edwards and engraved by F. Sansom. Prints bear the inscription: “Painted by Syd. Edwards, Engraved by F. Sansom. Published in London by G. Kearsley, Fleet Street, 1806.”
