'Ancient Keanae' (Maui) - In the singular 'Witness to Time' exhibition, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center partnered with the … Read more 'Ancient Keanae' (Maui) - In the singular 'Witness to Time' exhibition, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center partnered with the Maui Historical Society and Bailey House Museum to present the traditional paintings of Edward Bailey [1814-1903] along with eleven contemporary artists, each showing three examples of their unique personal views of the island. The show was held at the Schaefer International Gallery. I was one of the artists selected for the show and 'Ancient Keanae' was one of the three paintings I did for that prestigious show. It is my imagined view of the Keanae Village area below Hana Road as it might have appeared long before the first Polynesians found the Maui shore.
One of my largest paintings at 36"x 96", it is painted in acrylic and oil on canvas. It will be shipped in a free gallery-style frame made by the artist for the painting's protection and his own display accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. See less
