Imagine stepping out in this stunning elegant evening dress. This original fashion drawing dates to the early 1950s. We purchased it in Paris from a vendor who specializes in original fashion drawings. This was a lucky find for us as it is a rarity! It is a gouache and ink drawing done on thick paper stock. The black and blue gouache is thick and textural and can be felt by touch both on the dress and the earrings too! The black on black gouache has a shimmer which does show on the pictures but is even more dramatic in real life when it catches light. Note too the artistic syling of the hair and the subtle shading on the neck and arms. The rushing on the blue bodice sash, the sensual draped fabric and the long black gloves finish off the look. The design is sleek, chic, and elongated with wonderful gesturing and posture. Signed by the illustrator. Excellent, clean, pristine condition. 9 x 13 inches in size. Comes matted in a 16 x 20 inch white custom mat ready for a standard size frame. See less
