This guardian lion — known in Chinese tradition as a Shi Shi or Fu Lion — features a rare dual-sphere design: one paw rests on a carved wooden ball, symbolizing cosmic dominion, while a second, smaller ball is held delicately in its open mouth, evoking breath, speech, and spiritual energy.
