Beautiful set of three original 19th-century French hand-colored natural history engravings depicting mollusks and shell forms. These plates are from the Dictionnaire Universel d’Histoire Naturelle and feature finely detailed copperplate engravings with original period hand coloring. The trio presents a harmonious grouping of spiral shells, elongated conical forms, and rounded mollusks, making them ideal for coordinated display. All three share consistent paper, scale, and coloration and are offered unframed to allow for conservation-quality framing.
Condition:
Very good antique condition overall. Light, even age-related toning consistent with 19th-century paper. Original hand coloring remains fresh. Minor edge wear typical for age. No tears or losses observed.
Each print measures 9.3" in width and 13.5" in height
