A superb Louis XVI style commode featuring exquisite veneer work and a geometric marquetry medallion in the center. The straight lines, balanced proportions, and tapered legs perfectly reflect the elegance of French classicism.
It is topped with a magnificent original gray veined marble slab, which adds refinement and solidity to the piece. The commode opens with three drawers: a concealed upper drawer in the frieze, and two large drawers in the front, each adorned with bronze handles and keyhole escutcheons. A label from the Parisian manufacturer Sebesta is located inside one of the drawers.
The corners are also embellished with finely chased bronze mounts, contributing to the charm and quality of this piece.
Very good overall condition, with a few minor signs of age on the wood consistent with its age. The marble top is in beautiful condition.
