A set of three molded plastic pictures that were hand decorated and framed in stained wood frames. The pictures have been hand painted with copper and turquoise coatings/paints. The designs range from chickens and haystacks, to a scarecrow with corn. The wood frames are made from a stained soft wood and then backed with brown paper.

All three have been stamped with, “Ideal Originals of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WALL DECOR ITEMS COPYRIGHTED HAND DECORATED LOS ANGELES.” Either © 1963 or perhaps © 1967 and “IDEAL ORIGINALS” was also molded into the bottom of the picture with the roosters. Most of the stamp is covered by the frame.

MEASUREMENTS
Each picture is 11 ¾ in (29.8 cm) wide x 11 ¾ in (29.8 cm) tall x 1 in (2.5 cm) deep. Weighs 2 lb 1 oz.

CONDITION
The pictures are in very good condition with little wear. The picture with the haystacks has a bump out spot near the farmer on the right (see photo). And the one with the roosters has a little raised spot on the background. I believe both occurred during their manufacture. The wood frames have slight wear. The backings are worn and peeling on all three pictures.

A charming snapshot of mid-century California folk design, these hand-decorated reliefs bring rustic farm imagery and warm 1960s character to any wall. See less
