The original dinnerware is found in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History

Both plates feature traditional IMARI designs, known for their intricate patterns and use of red, blue and gold colors.

The floral motifs on these plates are deeply rooted in Japanese culture and seasonal appreciation:
Chrysanthemum: A wish for longevity and the symbol of the Imperial House.
Peony: Symbolizes prosperity, nobility, and distinction.
Plum and Pine: Represents perseverance through adversity.
Aesthetic: Traditional designs feature a vibrant palette of underglaze cobalt blue with overglaze "iron red," gold (gilt), and green.

Andrea Sadek is a key figure and designer for Andrea by Sadek, a renowned New York-based company (Charles Sadek Import Co.) known for its collectible porcelain figurines, home decor, and tableware, especially popular for its beautiful hand-painted bird and flower pieces, blending traditional quality with accessible pricing, and a strong brand name for collectors of vintage and new decorative items
In 2004, Andrea by Sadek created their historic museums collection—a conglomerate of famous porcelain dinnerware patterns and decorative accessories from the Winterthur museum, the Biltmore estate, Mount Vernon, colonial Williamsburg, Newport Mansion and the Smithsonian institute. the pieces gathered were reproduced from Sadek's factories and sold under the name of the museum or historic home where it was found. parts of this collection are still available today for purchase.
