This is a family heirloom that was curated from an estate sale. It has a sticker on the back that reads, “Made by Donna Nelson 7th Grade for parents Christmas 1942 Jamestown, KS”. What a wonderful history of this little corner shelf. A 7th grader would be around 12 years old and the craftsmanship is consistent of a young artist. We love the overall design and the fact the cuts are so irregular. Two of the bubbled side shapes were cut off in production, but they were re-affixed and add so much charm and character. We do not know the wood type, but the finish is shellac consistent with the 1940s.
