In 1955, this bowl from the newly created the Sgraffito Line features a finish called Hand-painted with Green Speckle Overglaze. Designer Charles Murphy used this age-old technique wherein the unfired glaze is scraped away in part to reveal the different colored clay underneath. The amorphous-shaped bowl and other pieces during this period. The Modern shape, glaze, and pattern combined perfectly with the prehistoric sgraffito etching. See less
