This semi-antique Persian Melayer runner originates from Iran's Hamadan weaving region, where artisans have practiced their craft for millennia. Measuring 3'6" x 16'4", the piece has been thoughtfully distressed and refinished in the United States to enhance its character. Persian rug weaving represents a cornerstone of Iranian cultural heritage, with documented traditions extending back to the Bronze Age. The most celebrated examples emerged during the Safavid dynasty of the 16th century, establishing aesthetic and technical standards that continue to define the medium. This runner exemplifies that enduring legacy of craftsmanship and artistic refinement.
