The slim, organically curved seat shell with its distinctive wood grain creates a visually light form while providing excellent support during work. The chair offers a wide range of height adjustment – the screw mechanism allows for smooth and precise positioning of the seat, making it suitable for both low and higher desks. The stable cast-iron base with casters ensures comfort and easy mobility around the space.
Pagholz was known for its innovative technology of molding multilayer plywood under high pressure. The resulting material, known as Pagwood, was exceptionally durable, flexible, and resilient — allowing for thin, ergonomic shapes that maintained stability even under intensive use. This is clearly visible in the presented model: the shell is lightweight yet remarkably solid. Elmar Flötotto was among the designers of the 1960s who emphasized simplicity, ergonomics, and maximum functionality.
