A glass sculpture titled "Eyewitness" designed by the artist Bertil Vallien (born 1938) for the Swedish glass company Kosta Boda. From the artist's Icon series, this clear glass sculpture features a face motif in the upper section of the sculpture, with triangular gold-tone striping at the base. The work is marked “Kosta Boda B. Vallien 7090406” to the underside and with a Kosta Boda sticker.
Bertil Vallien is a highly respected glass artist and designer. In the 1950s, he studied under Stig Lindberg at the art school Konstfack in Stockholm. Best known for his work at Kosta Boda, Vallien is celebrated for sand casted sculptures. Many of these sculptures have the repeated motif faces.
