Beautiful and unusual inverted design fireplace insert and surround and intricate fretwork.

Add timeless charm to your home with this authentic antique cast iron fireplace surround and insert, salvaged from a historic New Orleans property. This beautifully detailed piece features an inverted lattice centerpiece and intricate scrollwork accents, characteristic of Victorian-era design. The surround has raised marks in the top corners.

Riding a crest of cotton prosperity, nineteenth-century Mobile produced one of the South's most beautiful decorative ironwork that adorned the city's homes, squares, sidewalks, cemeteries. This famous ironwork of Mobile’s 'iron lace' spread well beyond the core of the city and New Orleans’s French Quarter.
