A charming and beautifully preserved Art Nouveau epergne, combining delicate opalescent glass with an intricately cast metal base.
This poetic object captures the refined decorative sensibility of the early 1900s, when table décor blended elegance with utility. The upper element is a finely blown opalescent glass trumpet, its rim softly ruffled and its body worked with a subtle diamond texture. It rests on the central fitting and can be removed, allowing it to function as a graceful single-stem vase. Beneath it, the wide, undulating opaline dish mirrors the same iridescent glow, shifting from milky white to pale aqua depending on the light. Both glass elements sit on an ornate cast base, richly modelled with the flowing botanical motifs that defined the Liberty / Art Nouveau aesthetic of the period.
The metal shows its original patina, adding authenticity and character. Versatile in use, this piece works beautifully as a centerpiece for fruit, a jewelry catch-all, or a decorative accent on a console or dressing table. Its sculptural presence and early-century charm make it an enchanting addition to any curated interior.
Condition: Very good condition. The glass shows minor expected signs of age, with no structural issues. The metal retains its original patina. The upper trumpet is simply seated in place, as originally intended.
