Unique older hand carved wood Singha lion guardian sculpture with lidded top.
Based on the design, this piece appears to be from the Lanna region of Northern Thailand.
Quite detailed throughout, especially in the face with the sharp teeth, lacquered red tongue, and what looks to be gemstone eyes; Possibly garnet.

Wooden lid top fits very securely on the notch.
The sculpture itself is quite solid and sound. You won't have to worry about it tipping over.
Very minor age related wear may have the slightest possibility of being found, most notably are some light visible hairline splits to the wood legs on one side. This does not take away from the structural integrity whatsoever, and really only adds to the aged character of this antique Singha.
We cannot find another piece like this anywhere!
This sculpture really truly brings a great aesthetic of authentic design to any room or collection.
And honestly if this one doesn't sell, I am ok with that.
We will keep it in a high up spot to look out & guard over our small business, and our family.

This piece is a little larger in size coming in at roughly 15" long X 5" wide X 13.5" tall
Most likely this piece was originally used as an offering box in a Buddhist temple, or as a spiritual/religious vessel in one's home.

And as a side note, this piece does bring the protective energy you can almost feel in the photos.
I have never said that about any piece I have bought and sold before....
