Found at an estate sale, this appears to be a rendering by German artist Ernst Geissendorfer depicting the actual Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany. The castle is located near the town of Hohenschwangau, built by King Ludwig II as a romantic, medieval-style retreat in the Bavarian Alps.
