The lady is well dressed in red with a fancy red hat. The style of the painting is Continental and may be French or German. The painting is housed in a simple reticulated gilt frame. The painting dates to the 2nd half of the 19th century. The painting is signed to the left of the face with the monogram letters of JS.

Condition: Good condition with some crazing to the surface. Some losses to the gilt frame.
