This striking, one-of-a-kind chandelier merges reclaimed craftsmanship with vintage industrial style — centered around a rare antique wooden distaff once used for spinning yarn, circa 19th century. Traditionally, a distaff held raw fibers like wool or flax while spinning; this particular piece appears to be a hand-carved paddle distaff, complete with regional decorative motifs and a beautifully distressed finish.
Upcycled into a ceiling-mounted fixture with a minimalist matte black metal frame and Edison-style bulbs (included), this lighting piece pays homage to both heritage and design.
The original wood and its aged iron end brackets have been carefully sealed with a dead-flat clear coat to preserve their texture and patina without losing their raw authenticity.
Suspended by dual downrods, this hardwired chandelier makes a compelling statement in farmhouse, loft, or eclectic interiors — blending the warmth of antique wood with the clean lines of industrial styling.
It's a functional work of art and conversation starter, responsibly made and entirely unique.
