An original Aldo Lodi for Bitossi glazed ceramic ashtray or catchall dish. Imprinted with "B" indicating an earlier example.

HISTORY
Bitossi Ceramiche, founded in Tuscany in 1921 by Guido Bitossi, evolved from traditional tile-making to become a major force in Italian design, especially after World War II when Aldo Londi became creative director in 1946, ushering in the iconic mid-century modern era with the famous Rimini Blu collection (1959) and collaborations with designers like Ettore Sottsass, blending historic craft with bold, contemporary style.
