Based on the style, construction and stamp on the bottom, we estimate this brass jardiniere to be English or Anglo-Indian circa 1890-1925. This piece came from the estate of a couple who lived in the Orient in 1960-1980 where they amassed quite a collection for their home.
the jardiniere is heavy (weighing @6 lbs) and very well constructed. The paw feet with acanthus leaves are riveted and the 3 lions head ring handles are attached with screws and washers. The body has a lightly hammered finish.
We have elected to only lightly clean this piece and leave the original patina alone due to its age.
Plant is not included.
