The plate is composed as a dense encyclopedic overview, with each object individually rendered and precisely numbered, transforming functional jewelry into a visually rich register of craftsmanship and cultural identity.

The composition offers a remarkable survey of Islamic metalwork design from Egypt and the broader Middle East as observed during the expedition of Duke Maximilian of Bavaria. Delicate filigree earrings, heavy engraved bangles, multilayered necklaces, amuletic pendants, and elaborate tassel ornaments testify to the extraordinary diversity of decorative traditions in circulation during the first half of the 19th century.
