This triumph in biscuit porcelain dates back to the early 1900s. Biscuit porcelain is a special manufacturing technique that gives the surface a matte, satiny appearance. This centerpiece depicts Mercury handing over his son Bacchus to the Nymphs in the presence of a goat, a mythological scene typical of the period.
Mercury, the messenger of the gods, was charged with handing over his son Bacchus to the Nymphs, deities of the forests and waters. Bacchus was a young god of wine and ecstasy, and the Nymphs would care for him and teach him the secrets of nature and creativity.
The moment of delivery was solemn and joyful: Mercury placed the newborn Bacchus in the loving arms of the Nymphs, who welcomed the little one with smiles and caresses. The Nymphs cared for him as if he were their own son, teaching him the secrets of nature and magic.
Bacchus grew up under the protection of the Nymphs, learning from them the wisdom and beauty of nature. And thanks to this precious gift from Mercury, the young god of wine and ecstasy became one of the most beloved and venerable deities of Olympus.
It is a delicate and refined object, perfect for enhancing your table and creating an elegant atmosphere.
This large group is in perfect condition, except for the loss of a small flower petal at the base. It comes from an Italian manufacturer and dates back to the first half of the twentieth century.
