This is a happy and bright oil on panel painting, painted in plein air in the countryside (the Brie plateau) in France. The painting was inspired by the fauve movement of the early 1900’s. This beautiful painting is presented in a gold gilded wood frame, wired and ready to hang.
Several of the photos show the art in a room setting. This painting is signed “Holden” in the lower right corner.
Artist Martha Holden was trained at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and later worked as an artist in France for 20 years.
