This stunning Burr walnut antique pedestal dressing table does show signs of use but features incredible carved detail and beautiful workmanship.
Characteristics of the English Regency period of the early 1800-1830s. It is a rare piece and this info is based on my research. Purchased at a Long Island estate sale with little info on it.
It features an ornate, swiveling or "tilt" mirror with a carved frame and crest, supported by distinctive twisted or "barley twist" columns.
4 keys total (minus the tassel) and on each pedestal, the doors open to reveal five small drawers per side. There are two small drawers flanking the top of the vanity and a hidden door underneath about the storage size of a medicine cabinet. There are 16 drawers total.
The mirror does come off the top for easy transport, as well as the pedestals of drawers on the front separate from the table top.
The main table has a large central opening for a seat which does not come with.
