Handcrafted in Thos. Moser’s Auburn, Maine workshop, the Harpswell Stool features slender legs, a steam-bent side and rear spreader, and a solid crest that calls attention to its striking natural grain. To create the back crest of the Harpswell Stool, the expert craftspeople of Thomas Moser begin with a three-inch-block of cherry, called a “twelve-quarter” by the lumber mills. As they carve into the block, swirling grain patterns emerge. Each crest is an individual canvas – no two are alike. When the seats are lined up together the effect is stunning.
This set of four Harpswell Stools was custom made in 2017 with Cobbsbridge black leather and the cherry wood is finished w/Oil + Catalyzed lacquer, with felt tack glides affixed to the bottom of each stool leg. These stools are in very good condition with minimal wear.
Designed by Tom Moser in his home workshop in Harpswell, Main, Thos. Moser still offers this stool today at a cost of $2,225. Due to the handmade nature of their craft, their current build time is 16 weeks. See less
