The vase is made of iridescent art glass, displaying a luminous metallic sheen that shifts between shades of blue, green, and violet. The characteristic Papillon “butterfly wing” pattern is created through the application of metal oxides, which form delicate mottled spots on the surface as the glass cools, giving the décor its distinctive shimmering texture.
The organically shaped body with its subtle twisted form enhances the fluid, dynamic aesthetics typical of Art Nouveau and lends the piece a sculptural presence.
