It has a sophisticated charm that is representative of the Louis XV influence on the Hollywood Regency movement in design that was a prevalent cultural revival in the 60's into the 70's. The mirror has qualities that are worth touting. For example the composite sheet backing that provides protection from behind the glass is possibly the best material in the last 100 years used for this purpose and is rarely found in new construction and other materials that are used to cut costs much like the quality of the mirror itself which is hardly if ever engaged by contemporary manufacturers. This statement making mirror has the manufacturers note written on the verso that reads: #2558 F/M 2/19/75. Although there is no makers mark discoverable it's likely that the era's prolific manufacturer of volumes of decorative goods made of polyresin that were typically gilded and in sync with the Baroque revival style of Hollywood Regency was America's own Syroco. based in Syracuse New York. and known for its production of Syroco Wood.
