Crafted in solid oak with well-defined grain, the table features a molded top with carved egg-and-dart edging and an architectural apron with paneled details. Turned baluster legs and squared block feet anchor the form, connected by a classic stretcher base characteristic of the Louis XIII vocabulary and its Renaissance Revival reinterpretations. The table has a generous presence at 67 inches long yet maintains refined proportions. Two drawers, one on each end, provide practical storage, and the hand-cut dovetails and pegged joinery emphasize its period craftsmanship. With an apron clearance of 21.75 inches, it functions best as a writing table, library table, or entry console rather than a dining table. We fully revised the structure in our New York workshop, tightening all joinery and ensuring long-term stability. The oak surface was gently polished and finished with a hand-applied wax to enhance the depth of the patina while preserving the character of the antique wood. A beautifully balanced French table that blends architectural presence with understated elegance—ideal for an office, library, or foyer setting.
