A 5-piece group of Moderntone sherbet bowls produced by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company in the late 1930s to 1940s. Formed in pressed glass and finished in the company’s Platonite pastel blue, the set reflects the streamlined geometry associated with American Art Deco tableware.
Each bowl features the characteristic stepped banding of the Moderntone line, paired with a compact footed profile designed for sherbet, fruit, or ice cream service. Platonite, a fired opaque enamel over milk glass, gives the color its soft matte appearance and uniform tone. These pieces represent Hazel-Atlas’s contribution to mass-market modernism during the
