A rare late-19th-century English Aesthetic Movement majolica pitcher featuring exotic birds perched among high-relief folded fans and bamboo. Richly textured turquoise and lilac glazes with a sculptural faux-bamboo handle embody the Japonesque influences of the era. Triangular form adds striking display presence.
Attributed to noted Staffordshire majolica producer Joseph Holdcroft, a contemporary of George Jones known for vibrant Orientalist design.
Perfect statement piece for majolica collectors, eclectic interiors, or art pottery displays.
