Woven in the Konya region of Central Anatolia in the 1960s, this long village runner combines a finely made flatwoven kilim ground with exceptionally dense hand embroidery in naturally dyed wool. The deep red field and sparkling multicolored stitches read as both folk art and graphic design, making it an ideal statement piece for a hallway, kitchen galley, or rustic living space.
Along its length, rows of tiny embroidered motifs and spaced diamond medallions create a rhythmic pattern that feels joyful yet orderly. The runner appears vintage but unused and has been professionally cleaned, is odorless, and ready to place. As with all genuine handwoven pieces, it is not perfectly rectangular and shows small natural irregularities, which contribute to its authentic village character rather than detract from it.

✨ Color Palette & Design Insight
The palette is warm, saturated, and lively, ideal for boho, farmhouse, rustic cabin, or eclectic modern interiors that need a strong color anchor. The long red field grounds a corridor or room, while the multicolored embroidery introduces movement and a joyful, collected feel.
• Deep madder red and cherry red tones forming the main ground
• Golden saffron, mustard yellow, and tangerine orange in medallions and border details
• Lavender, lilac, magenta, and plum accents adding jewel-like sparkle
• Emerald, olive, and soft leaf greens in sprigs and small motifs
• Indigo, violet, charcoal, and inky black notes for depth and outline
• Crisp white highlights that make the tiny star- and flower-like forms stand out
✨ Motifs & Symbolism
This runner is filled with small embroidered motifs arranged in even rows around a chain of larger diamond medallions that march down the center. The diamonds, often associated with protection and the watchful “eye,” give a strong directional rhythm along the length of the rug. Many of the smaller elements read as stylized flowers and stars, symbolizing fertility, abundance, and a flourishing household. In the borders, hooked lozenges, sprigs, and horn-like shapes echo traditional wishes for strength, growth, and continuity. The overall density of the pattern creates an energetic yet controlled surface that feels celebratory without overwhelming a space.
