Large-scale tapestry featuring a classic hunting and landscape scene (Verdure) in the tradition of the Gobelin ateliers.
This exceptional wall tapestry is a rarely preserved example of European weaving art from the 17th or 18th century. The color palette is characterized by rich, muted blue, green, and earth tones, typical of the best ateliers of that era, such as Gobelin, Aubusson, or Brussels.
The scene depicts a densely overgrown landscape with lush vegetation, water, and an elegant heron or crane. The tapestry is finished with a wide, decorative border. The fineness of the weave testifies to the high quality and the original commissioner.
The centuries-old patina, including natural discoloration and wear, underscores the authenticity and age of this historical piece.
A museum-quality and atmospheric object of inestimable historical and decorative value.
