This exceptionally rendered porcelain male courtier … Read more This vintage Continental rare "campy" porcelain figurine exhibits the whimsy of late 19th century. This exceptionally rendered porcelain male courtier is elaborately costumed in a wide decorative gold skirted tu tu. His upright dance pose is embellished with a flowing red cape & plumed headdress. Continental cabinet figures such as these are not easily found & are quite collectible in some circles. The figures face & costume are presented with detailed hand coloring.
The base of the figure is stamped with a flo blue crown mark beneath the glaze. The mark identifies a royal crown over interlocking "C" letters & is possibly German.
The piece is in excellent condition.
