This vintage rare French bronze medal commemorative dates from the early 1920’s & is by an artist some say is the finest artist of the period, Pierre Turin. The octagon shape bronze is beautifully designed with a sculpted relief scene of a partially nude goddess, Flora, on billowing clouds tossing Spring flowers from her basket down to earth. The back of the bronze reads, “Exposition Internationale des Art Decoratifs et Industrial Modernes, Paris 1925. This piece was done in bronze & silver. This piece has a tarnished silver appearance on the reverse, along its sides & the front has a partially tarnished surface that contrasts with the bronze body of the goddess. Some experts say that this creation gave the name Art Deco to the period ! What a fabulous find for the Art Deco period collector !
