While very young, he participated in the activities of the family studio and this universe naturally directed him towards the School of Fine Arts. He obtained his diploma in 1975 in graphic design/engraving section.
While living in Iranian Kurdistan he had his first art exhibition.
In 1990 he was invited to Paris on the occasion of an exhibition of Kurdish artists. Enjoying new surroundings, Ramzi decided to stay in France. He obtained political asylum status and French nationality a few years later.
This double membership determines the singularity of its universe. His work is located at the crossroads of observation, memory and dream, on the borders of memory and imagination.
Ghotbaldin arrived in France more than 30 years ago, in full maturity, translates into a generous synthesis, an inner richness and a look of wonder at his environment.
He lives and works in Paris. Since 1996, he exhibits regularly in Paris, in the provinces but also in Belgium, the United States, Kurdistan and the United Kingdom.
