Zeno Hodge (American, b. 1896-Unknown) was an artist who studied at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis ca. 1917-1918, and studied under notable artists like William Forsyth and Otto Stark around 1917-1918.
Piece is mounted to double matting. Subject may be example of small bungalows available to soldiers returning from WWII.
Living and dying in Rushville, Indiana, Hodge studied at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, under the instruction of Hoosier Group artists William Forsythe and Otto Stark, as well as Clifton Wheeler.
Hodge's watercolors and oil paintings show influence from his Hoosier group instructors as well as from popular 1920s artists like Harrison Fisher.
Piece is housed in a composite, black frame, behind glass. Photo in frame was taken in indoor lighting; the remaining photo were taken in natural lighting.
